Protest against the continued arrest of Keyvan Samimi, a national-religious activist

A group of political, social, and human rights activists issued a statement protesting the arrest of Keyvan Samimi, a nationalist and religious activist who has been in detention since May 1.
Keyvan Samimi Behbahani, a well-known political activist and editor of Iran Farda magazine, who was arrested during the May Day rally, remains in detention.
A group of political, social, and human rights activists have protested the continued detention of Keyvan Samimi in a statement and called for his immediate release. The text of the statement has been published on the Kalem website.
The statement reads: "On International Workers' Day this year, a group of labor activists and their social supporters gathered in front of the parliament, which led to the arrest of a large number of them."
The statement said: "The right to protest is not recognized, contrary to the explicit text of the constitution, and every time trade union and civil society activists, in the course of their legitimate efforts, instead of being held accountable and achieving their rights, they end up in prison and are punished and sentenced to imprisonment for the crime of seeking justice."
The signatories of the statement doubted the effectiveness of their protest letter and said: "Based on experience, our demand for the release of Samimi and many other political, trade union, and civil activists, including teachers and labor activists, will probably not be successful as always, but based on our moral and social responsibility, we insist on the necessity of releasing Keyvan Samimi and other oppressed prisoners."
This letter was signed by 27 political activists, including: Hashem Aghajari, Alireza Beheshti, Mostafa Tajzadeh, Mohammad Tavasoli, Alireza Rajai, Abdolfattah Soltani, Ehsan Shariati, Abolfazl Ghadiani, Fatemeh Guvarai, and…
Some workers and teachers who were arrested during the May Day protests have previously been released with or without bail, but a number of those arrested remain in custody.
