40-year-old man confesses to serial murder of seven women in Gilan

The mystery of the suspicious murders of seven women in Gilan has been revealed. With the arrest and shocking confessions of the perpetrator of these seven murders, the "Night Bat" case, which became famous in the 1970s, has been recalled once again. This 40-year-old man committed the murders with the complicity of his ex-wife.
This 40-year-old man, known as a passenger car driver and a serial killer of Tehrani women in the 1970s, would pick up women in his car and, after gaining their trust, design and execute a plan to kill them.
Confessed to seven murders
The Gilan police have released very limited information about the perpetrator of these seven murders. According to the Shahrvand newspaper, the killer confessed to the murder of four women aged 57 to 60 during initial interrogations, and in subsequent interrogations, he confessed to three other horrific crimes.
It has been determined so far that the first three murders occurred between 2008 and 2009. The 40-year-old killer told the police: "Except for two bodies, I had mutilated the rest of the bodies. I would take the mutilated bodies to the outskirts of cities and deserted roads of Gilan province and hide them there."
With this man's shocking confessions, the body of one of the victims, who had been reported missing since 2009, was recently found in a village in Rasht.
The 40-year-old man has confessed to seven murders, claiming that his ex-wife accompanied him during all of the murders.
Murder of seven women with the complicity of their ex-husbands
Since last year, following the suspicious disappearance of four women in Rasht and surrounding villages, police investigations began to uncover the mystery of these cases, which were believed to be connected.
During the police investigation of the victims' families, a striking commonality was found in the case: all of the victims were either divorced or on the verge of divorce. During their investigation, the police discovered that one of the victims was in a relationship with a 40-year-old man.
Following the man's pursuit, it was discovered that he had been having an affair with another victim. It took four months for the police to complete their investigation and arrest the man.
According to the police, the killer of these seven women claims that after separating from his first wife, he harbored a grudge against the women and, acting as a passenger, identified them and, after killing them and stealing their gold, mutilated their bodies.
Interview with the brother of one of the victims
Several days after the arrest and confession of the serial killer of Gilan, the bodies of some of the victims have still not been found. A family has been waiting for a trace of their sister since July of last year. The sister left home one day but never returned until, 10 months later, just a few days after the news of the arrest of this 40-year-old killer was published, the police informed the family of the confirmation of the murder. The Citizen newspaper has interviewed the brother of the victim.
"We had gone to Gilan for a vacation. On the second day of our trip, my sister left home in the morning and never returned. We informed the police, but 10 months had passed since then, and there was no news or sign of our sister until last week, when the police called us and said that our sister had been murdered. So far, we have only found out that the murderer is from Zibakenar, Rasht, but what does that matter to us? Our sister was killed, and in a horrific way, and her body has not even been found, and it is not known whether there is a body left."
Guilan night bat
With the revelation of the secret of the serial murder of these seven women, the name of the controversial case that was very famous in Iran in the 1970s has once again become a topic of conversation. Many Iranian newspapers have referred to this 40-year-old man as the "Night Bat of Gilan".
The Night Bat was a man named Gholamreza Khoshro, a blind Kurd who had begun a series of murders of women in Tehran since 1992. He was arrested in 1997 and executed on charges of nine murders.
