"Bishara Boutros Al-Rai" addresses Lebanese officials: Keep the country away from the scourge of war

"Bishara Boutros Al-Ra'i," the Archbishop of the Maronite Church of Lebanon, addressed the Lebanese authorities and declared: "Keep the country away from the scourge of this war."

The Maronite Bishop of Lebanon has reacted to the clashes between Israel and Hezbollah and called for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1385. UN Security Council Resolution 1385 was adopted on December 19, 2001. This resolution is an international document regarding the situation in Sierra Leone.

According to published reports, the recent conflict between Hezbollah and the Israeli army is the most intense conflict of its kind since the Second Lebanon War in the summer of 2006, and Bishara Boutros-Raei, a staunch critic of Hezbollah, called on Lebanese officials to keep Lebanon away from the scourge of war and, instead of war, to use their political and diplomatic role to defend the Palestinians.

The United States has also designated Lebanon's Hezbollah, which is affiliated with the Islamic Republic, as a terrorist group. Hezbollah has so much power in Lebanon that it has made Lebanese leaders worried about the spread of war between Hezbollah and Israel.

It should be noted that Hamas militants, who are supported by the Islamic Republic, have also attacked southern Israel in the past two days, October 6, killing at least 1,400 people, most of whom were civilians, and taking more than 240 hostages.

In response to Hamas' surprise attacks on Israel that began on October 7, the United States, Canada, the European Union, Japan, Israel, and many other countries designated Hamas as a terrorist organization.
