Shift workers of oil and gas exploitation companies held protest rallies in Karun, Gachsaran, Marun, and Masjed-e-Suleiman on Wednesday, April 21.
According to the Council for Organizing Protests of Contract Workers, these gatherings were held to demand the establishment of 12-hour work shifts .
These shift workers were protesting the change in working hours to 8-hour rotating shifts , as well as the failure to meet their job and livelihood demands.
A few days ago, a number of employees from the Karun, Aghajari, and Gachsaran oil fields gathered in front of the Southern Oil Fields Company building .
Shift workers point out that they receive more shift pay in 12-hour shifts and say: In a three-shift work schedule, they should have worked 12 days and had four days off, but in a 12-hour shift, they work four days and have four days off.
