Hacker attack on websites of Iranian government and private organizations

Iranian officials have announced that a hacking group has attacked more than 100 websites of government and private organizations in the country. The hacking group "From Uprising to Overthrow" has announced an attack on the systems of the Iranian Ministry of Agricultural Jihad.

On Sunday, April 24, Meysam Maghsoudi Goodarzi, Deputy Director of the Information Technology Organization (IFTA), announced on the News 21 program of Channel 1 of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRNA) about a widespread cyber attack on Iran's infrastructure.

He said about the details of the attack, which occurred in the last few days: "The attack was designed using a security hole in one of the most widely used software in the country's organizations, through which the attackers were able to gain initial penetration into more than 100 websites of government and private organizations in the country."

According to Goodarzi, the attack was thwarted and no damage was done to any of the country's infrastructure.

He said: "The attackers were only able to extract system information from the websites, and none of the websites' core information was attacked."

Meanwhile, a group called "From Uprising to Overthrow" has announced on its Twitter page that about 50 domains of the Islamic Republic's Ministry of Agricultural Jihad systems have been hacked.

This hacking group has placed a picture of Massoud Rajavi, leader of the People's Mojahedin Organization, Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, and a picture of Ali Khamenei, leader of the Islamic Republic, with a red cross on the homepage of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad website.

Meysam Maghsoudi Goodarzi has called the origin of these attacks the Netherlands, America, and Britain and said that "supplementary and legal measures for this event are being pursued and implemented."

According to him, this action was "designed as a time bomb to attack and overwhelm more than 100 services in the country at a specific time in order to disrupt the country."
