Domestic violence: Murder of a woman by her husband in Mashhad

On Friday, December 4, a woman in Mashhad was stabbed to death by her husband. After being arrested, the accused cited family disputes as the cause of the incident.

HRANA News Agency reports, citing Hamshahri, that on Friday, December 5, 2020, law enforcement officers contacted the special judge for premeditated murder in Mashhad and reported a horrific crime on 9 Shahid Cheraghchi Street in Mashhad.

Preliminary investigations showed that the crime occurred on the second floor of a three-story building, and the bloody body of a 35-year-old woman was found under several blankets.

Neighbors and locals who had heard the young woman's screams and cries until late in the morning told the judicial authority that the young woman (the deceased) was having an argument with her husband and was trying to leave the house in any way she could, but her husband was preventing her. We even tried to mediate to stop them from arguing and fighting, but the woman's husband did not pay attention. Even when the police patrol came to the scene after being called by the locals, the woman's husband claimed that it was a family problem and that we would resolve our differences ourselves.

Judge Ahmadinejad's continued field investigation revealed that neighbors had heard the young woman's argument and screams until 5 a.m., but silence had now descended on the couple's home! This was despite the fact that the victim's eight-year-old son had stayed at his grandmother's house that night, and the only three-year-old child was at home when the crime occurred.

Despite some evidence indicating the presence of the victim's brother-in-law at the crime scene, an extensive investigation by police detectives was launched to arrest the victim's fugitive husband. For this reason, a special group of detectives continued tracking and intelligence operations to identify the suspect's hideout until they succeeded in arresting the fugitive murder suspect.

With the transfer of this man, who claimed to be in a state of shock due to excessive pill use, specialized interrogations of him began under the supervision of a special homicide judge at the police station.

The defendant, who is about 40 years old, openly admitted to killing his wife, claiming that he had used drugs that night and was in a state of delusion that he had stabbed his wife to death due to a previous dispute.

Further investigations are ongoing to uncover the hidden angles and the cause and motive of this horrific crime.
