Pharmacies on the verge of bankruptcy

The head of the Supreme Council of Pharmacies of the Iranian Pharmacists Association, emphasizing the need for the Health Insurance Organization to pay last year's demands of pharmacies, said: "Government officials should know that pharmacies are going bankrupt." Not only has the Health Insurance Organization not settled its claims against pharmacists last year, but the interview of the Health Insurance Organization's deputy health service insurance director that the claims of pharmacies will be paid by September is itself a cover-up of the facts.
He added: "According to the head of the Health Insurance Organization, the Health Insurance Organization's debt for last year's claims from medical institutions is 3,700 billion. Unfortunately, we must announce that the cause of many of the country's pharmaceutical problems is the failure of insurance organizations to pay pharmacies' claims on time, which has driven pharmacies to bankruptcy."
