Zarif: Iran will not renegotiate the JCPOA

The Islamic Republic's Foreign Minister says the United States has withdrawn from the JCPOA and the country must adhere to its commitments. Mohammad Javad Zarif has announced that the text of the nuclear agreement has been finalized and Iran sees no need for renegotiation.

The media messages from the governments of the Islamic Republic and the United States regarding the nuclear agreement continue. Following the publication of Joe Biden's interview with CBS News, Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, also participated in an interview with Channel Two of the Iranian Broadcasting System on Sunday, February 7.

He stated on the television program: "The JCPOA has been finalized due to the Islamic Republic of Iran's lack of agreement on other issues, and we will not have any renegotiations in this regard."

Iran's Foreign Minister has implicitly rejected adding Iran's missile activities and its political performance in the region to future negotiations.

In his interview with CBS, Joe Biden announced that the United States' return to the nuclear agreement is conditional on Iran's compliance with its obligations under the JCPOA.

It should be noted that the increase in uranium enrichment by 20% is among the issues that have caused discontent among the European Troika as well as the United States.

In his interview with Channel 2 of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, Zarif emphasized that the United States has withdrawn from the nuclear agreement and therefore, the country must return to the nuclear agreement.

The Iranian Foreign Minister has also stressed that the United States must "provide guarantees that actions such as those taken by the US administration [the Trump administration], which violated the nuclear agreement, will not be repeated."

Mohammad Javad Zarif has called on the Biden administration to reconsider its approach to the nuclear deal and adhere to the commitments foreseen in the 2015 nuclear agreement.
