Saudi Arabia: If Iran stops threatening regional security, Arab countries will reach out to it

Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister said on Monday, January 3, that if Iran stops threatening the security and stability of the region, Arab countries will extend their hand to it.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan, who has traveled to the Jordanian capital Amman, said in a joint news conference with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi that Iran's support for terrorist militias and pursuit of a nuclear weapons program are among these factors disrupting stability in the region.
According to the Saudi Gazette newspaper, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Jordan discussed and exchanged views on Iran's "destabilizing role" in the security and stability of the region and the world, and its support for militants, during their talks.
The report adds that officials from the two countries stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and a Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction.
Tehran, a regional rival of Riyadh, is accused of supporting the Shiite Houthi militia in Yemen, which regularly fires missiles and launches drones at Saudi targets. Saudi Arabia has been at war with the Houthis in Yemen since 2015, supporting the government of Mansour Abd Rabbuh Hadi.
