Gholamreza Pahlavi, brother of the last king of Iran, dies

Gholamreza Pahlavi, the younger brother of Mohammad Reza Shah, the last king of Iran, died in Paris at the age of 94. 

Gholamreza Pahlavi was the third son of Reza Shah and the result of his marriage to Touran Amir Soleimani. He was the head of the National Olympic Committee before the revolution and participated in seven Olympic Games. He was also a member of the Council of Regent of the monarchy.

He left Iran in 1979, at the height of the revolution, and lived in almost complete isolation. Gholamreza Pahlavi married twice. He is survived by two daughters, two sons, and one grandson.

Reza Pahlavi, the son of the last king of Iran, announced in a message on Facebook that his uncle's death was due to illness and offered condolences to his family.
