Nabil Qureshi 1983-2017

Our dear brother, Nabil Qureshi, who was born in 1983, joined God on September 16 of this year after a year-long battle with stomach cancer.

We are saddened and heartbroken now, but we believe with all our hearts and souls that he was freed from pain and is in the presence of our Savior Jesus Christ, truly healed.

Death is interpreted in different religions and beliefs with different words and descriptions. Some see death as the end of everything, while others see it as punishment and darkness from which it is impossible to escape. While for us Christians, death is the beginning of eternal life in the presence of God and His worship.

What more beautiful life could there be than to begin life by fully accepting God in our hearts, worship Him with complete faith, serve Him with all our heart and soul, and ultimately worship our God for eternity?

The loss of Nabil Qureshi is saddening for many of us Christians, but we believe that he has begun a new phase and continues to live eternally in heaven with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in unity.

Nabil was a great example and a role model who proved that we can serve our Lord with all our being until our last breath and how a Christian minister should live his life on earth.

Qureshi was born into a Pakistani Muslim family and raised in America.

In part of his testimony of faith, which reflects his life's change of direction towards Christ, Nabil said: "My earliest childhood memories are of the times when my mother would sit me next to her every day and teach me to read the words of the Quran. So much so that I finished this book at the age of 5."

With this continued education, Daraw learned how to defend the principles of his Muslim faith and often challenged those in school who did not believe in Islam.

Until he finally met David Wood while studying at the University of Virginia. He was a Christian missionary and Nabil met David while reading the Bible. The two argued with each other for two and a half years, each trying to defend his religious beliefs. But in the end, according to Nabil's testimony of faith, all his arguments to defend Islam against the philosophy of death and resurrection and the divinity of Christ were defeated.

Nabil said: "At the end of my research, the arguments for opposing Islam were in equal proportion to the reasons I had for defending this religion, but I came to the clear belief that the teachings of Islam were far from the solidity found in Christian theology."

But these were not the only evidences that convinced Qureshi to believe in Christianity and give his heart to Jesus Christ. Rather, he had three prophetic dreams about Christ, all of which ultimately led to Christianity winning over his thoughts and choosing Nabil Qureshi.

He accepted Christ as his Savior, but it was so difficult for him to declare this faith to his parents that he said, “When my parents found out, it was the most painful day of my life. Of course, having Christ in my life was worth losing everything valuable in my life.”

While studying at Eastern Virginia Medical School, he also studied Christian theology at the university.

He then entered Oxford University to obtain a doctorate in New Testament and Theology and continued his activities as a spokesperson for the RAVI ZACHARIAS International Organization.

Qureshi also published three books with the following titles.

Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus: A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity"

A Former Muslim Investigates the evidence for Islam and Christianity.

One of Nabil Qureshi's books has now been translated into Persian and is available to Persian-speaking readers, entitled "In Search of Allah, I Found Christ." This book will soon be available as a PDF file. Interested readers can contact us to receive it.

Qureshi announced his cancer diagnosis in August 2016 in a Facebook post: “This is an announcement I never thought I would have to make. But I believe that God in His infinite wisdom and sovereignty has chosen me for purification and refinement. I also pray that our Lord will be glorified through my body and spirit. My family and I have now received the news that I have advanced stomach cancer and it is very difficult to predict the course and outcome of the treatment.”

After this news, Qureshi continued his activities to share his words and update his treatment process through videos on social media.

In his last video before his death, he said, “I hope that with my life I can leave a legacy of love. I believe that our God is a God of love. As you have seen my ministry, I hope to leave a message of love, of peace and truth and caring for one another among you.”

Now, on behalf of Iranians and all Persian-speaking Christians around the world, we extend our deepest condolences to Nabil's wife, Michelle, and their daughter, Ayah, Nabil Qureshi's parents, his extended family, and RZIM.

We pray with all our hearts that the Holy Spirit will fill the hearts and minds of this family.

We pray for the family of Nabil Qureshi to find peace and comfort from God, and we believe that when we meet Nabil Qureshi in eternal life and worship Christ in unity, we will be proud witnesses for him.

We hope that Nabil's soul will rest in eternal peace and joy in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.
