"Hesti Amiri" and "Zia Nabavi" were transferred to Evin Prison to serve their sentences.

"Hesti Amiri" and "Zia Nabavi", two students from Allameh Tabatabaei University, were transferred to Evin Prison today to serve their sentences.

Zia Nabavi, by publishing a picture of the notice issued by the First Branch of the Evin Court of Appeals on social media on Tuesday, April 14, 1403, announced that he and Ms. Hasti Amiri would appear at the said branch on Saturday, April 8. They were arrested this morning, Saturday, April 8, after going to the First Branch of the Evin Court of Appeals and transferred to Evin Prison to serve their one-year prison sentence.

The two students were charged with participating in a gathering at Allameh Tabatabaei University on March 16, 1401, to protest the poisoning of students in schools. In May 1402, Ms. Amiri and Mr. Nabavi were charged at the Evin Courthouse, and the court hearing to hear their charges was held on July 19, 1402, at Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court.

In August 1402, Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, headed by Judge Iman Afshari, sentenced them each to one year in prison on the charge of “propaganda against the regime.” The verdict was also confirmed a few days later by Branch 26 of the Tehran Provincial Court of Appeal.

Hasti Amiri and Zia Nabavi received a notice on March 15, 1402, to execute their prison sentences. After negotiations between their lawyers, the execution of their sentences was postponed until after the Nowruz holidays. Finally, today, April 8, after going to Branch 1 of the Evin Courthouse's Sentence Execution Department, they were arrested and transferred to Evin Prison to serve their sentences.

Mr. Nabavi and Ms. Amiri have also been arrested and prosecuted in the past for their activities. The Islamic Republic regime, which has been denying people the right to freedom of expression, protest, freedom of belief, etc., and harassing them, has increased the severity of repression, harassment of the Iranian people, and issuing prison sentences to them since the start of the nationwide protests. It sends Iranian citizens to prison without sufficient evidence and documents and with false reasons, and issues heavy sentences to them; but it refuses to handle cases of economic corruption, crimes, rape, embezzlement of funds, and other such cases.
