Iran's Ministry of Intelligence announced the arrest of 22 people in connection with the Ahvaz attack.

Iran's Ministry of Intelligence announced the arrest of 22 people it called the "culprits" of the attack on the armed forces parade in Ahvaz. The ministry said the men were detained in a "team house."

According to Iran Television, the Ministry of Intelligence announced in a statement on Monday evening, October 19, that it had identified the "team house" responsible for the attack on the armed forces parade in Ahvaz and arrested 22 people.

The announcement stated that "explosives, military and communication equipment" were discovered in the house.

On Monday morning, Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi said, without giving details, that "a large part of the perpetrators" of the attack on the Iranian armed forces parade in Ahvaz had been arrested.

The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence has called the attackers and detainees "affiliated with Takfiri separatist groups supported by reactionary Arab countries."

Islamic Republic officials have pointed the finger of blame at a group called the "Arab Liberation Movement of Ahwaz," but the group's spokesman has said in various interviews that the "Ahvaz National Resistance Group" was involved in the attack.

The group, which has not yet published a report on its activities, has not made any announcement in this regard.

On the other hand, the Islamic Caliphate group (ISIS) has simultaneously claimed responsibility for the Ahvaz attack.

At least 24 people were killed and more than 60 injured in the Ahvaz attack.

The Leader and other officials of the Islamic Republic have accused Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and Israel of playing a role in the attack on the Iranian armed forces parade in Ahvaz, without providing any evidence.

The United States and the United Arab Emirates have denied this claim.

The Islamic State group has published a video on the "Amaq" website claiming that the images and statements of three attackers are among the four perpetrators of the attack on the military parade in Ahvaz.

Iranian authorities had previously announced that the four armed attackers in the Ahvaz attack were killed in a response by the military on the scene.

However, the Ministry of Intelligence announced that there were five attackers.

Also, according to Fars News Agency, the attackers "arrived at the scene at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, entered the scene again at 8 a.m., checked the works, and finally began their attack at 9 a.m."

According to the report, the attackers "were wearing Basij camouflage uniforms and were armed with Kalashnikovs with several extra magazines."

Fars added: Three of these people were related to each other, and "two of them were brothers and the third was their cousin."

Simultaneously with the announcement by the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence, some social media users reported widespread arrests of Arab activists following the attack. Some analysts had previously expressed concern about the Islamic Republic government's misuse of the Ahvaz attack to arrest Arab activists.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards threatened on Sunday that it would "spare no effort to pursue and severely punish criminals in the region and beyond."

Iran's Ministry of Intelligence has also issued a similar threat in its announcement, declaring that it will "monitor and punish terrorist groups and their affiliated elements anywhere in the region and the world."
