Irish Foreign Minister: Window of Opportunity for Nuclear Deal Will Close Soon

Simon Coveney, Irish Foreign Minister and UN Security Council Coordinating Representative for the Revival of the JCPOA, stated that if an agreement is not reached to return Iran and the United States to the JCPOA, the opportunity will be lost very quickly.
The Irish Foreign Minister, who is participating in the nuclear talks as a facilitator, announced today, Wednesday, March 9, that if an agreement is not reached "very quickly" to return Iran and the United States to the JCPOA, the window of opportunity will close.
According to Simon Coveney, “this is absolutely necessary to achieve success.” Otherwise, he believes, “a golden opportunity will be missed.”
On the other hand, Mohammad Reza Ghaebi, Head of Iran's Permanent Mission to International Organizations in Vienna, while speaking at the meeting of the Board of Governors, emphasized that Iran, as a responsible member of the NPT, was committed to implementing its obligations within the framework of the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement (CSA).
He added: "The report of the Director General of the IAEA reflects the progress made in addressing safeguards issues previously reported to the Board of Governors, and this progress is the result of mutually constructive cooperation between Iran and the Agency."
On Tuesday, March 8, diplomats from Britain, Germany, and France rejected Russia's latest demands to revive the Iran nuclear deal in a joint statement at a meeting of the Board of Governors in Vienna.
European countries warned that the proposed solution negotiated in Vienna cannot remain on the table forever given the progress of Iran's nuclear program and that the opportunity for an agreement is running out.
