Video of young woman being beaten in Abadan; security guard sent to prison

Following the release of a video of a woman in Abadan with a "bloody face being pushed to the ground by two other women" and a security guard standing over her head with a baton, judicial authorities in Khuzestan province announced the arrest of the security guard on Thursday.
The Chief Justice of Khuzestan Province says the released video of a fight with a woman in Abadan is "due to an old dispute and also a financial settlement with an oil company employee."
Sadegh Moradi said that the security guard "acted very inappropriately, was arrested and sent to prison."
The release of this video has sparked widespread reaction on social media, with many users strongly criticizing the violence against this woman.
According to IRNA, the police announced in a statement regarding the incident: "Following the publication of a clip on social media in which two people had beaten a young woman and asked neighbors to call the police on 110. Immediately after the public called, Abadan police arrived at the scene in the shortest possible time and transferred the parties to the police station."
In this regard, Hamid Mardanipour, the Public Prosecutor of Abadan, told IRNA: "The people who published the video of this incident on social media will be arrested soon and the necessary action will be taken against them."
The Abadan prosecutor further stated that the main cause of the conflict in the video posted online was "a family conflict, previous disagreements, and financial issues."
Hamid Mardanipour has not provided further details about this family conflict and previous disagreements.
But the Rokna website wrote that "the girl from Abadan had a falling out with the family of a prominent man from the Abadan refinery."
According to the Abadan prosecutor, the woman tried to enter a house in the "Brim" neighborhood and upon entering, she got into an argument with a boy and injured him with a "sharp instrument."
Hamid Mardanipour added: "Two women who were at home fought with him and injured him in the face, and the fight dragged on outside the house."
The Abadan prosecutor also said: "After the investigation, the female attacker was released by legal order and sent to a medical center for treatment, and the security guard was also summoned by the judge and sent to prison."
The Rokna website wrote: "Two women attacked a young girl and broke her nose with heavy blows. When the fight was dragged outside the house, a security guard at the refinery's organizational housing area, in an immoral act, not only first stepped on the young girl's body, but then pressed her body with a baton and finally touched the young girl's body with his own hand."
The way the two women, along with the security guard, treated the woman has sparked protests. However, Khuzestan judicial authorities have warned that they will deal with anyone who creates a stir regarding the incident.
