The Iranian Labor News Agency (ILNA) wrote on Monday, February 4, that Mohammad Ali Jadari Foroughi, Parvin Mohammadi's lawyer, announced that his client's arrest warrant would not be commuted.

Mohammad Ali Jadari Foroughi said in an interview with ILNA News Agency: "A court order was issued from Branch 102 of the Fardis 2 Criminal Court, which, in addition to stating the client's charges, stated that, in light of the power of attorney granted by the Honorable Deputy Prosecutor and Head of the 33rd District Prosecutor's Office of Evin, the temporary detention order has been approved."

Jadari Foroughi also said that efforts to convert his client's arrest warrant to bail have failed. Ms. Mohammadi Vali's lawyer expressed hope that criminal conditions will not be applied in union cases, given their nature, and that union activists will be supported.

Parvin Mohammadi, the deputy head of the Free Union of Iranian Workers, was arrested last Tuesday and on Thursday morning, February 1, was transferred to Kachouei Prison in Karaj with a one-month temporary detention order.

According to the Bidarzani website, on Thursday morning, the Fardis Karaj Prosecutor's Office rejected the 300 million IDR bail for Mohammadi's release and issued a temporary detention order for this labor activist.

Although his family and friends provided the requested bail, the prosecutor's office refused to accept the bail and instead sent him to Kechui Prison with a one-month temporary detention order.

Parvin Mohammadi's mother also protested her daughter's arrest in a video message, saying that "Parvin has done nothing wrong" and has not committed any crime. In her video, which was widely shared on social media, Mohammadi's mother said that "Parvin defended workers' rights and these things are not crimes."

The Free Union of Iranian Workers has issued a statement protesting the arrest of Jafar Azimzadeh and Parvin Mohammadi, holding the government of the Islamic Republic directly responsible for their lives and health.

Pressure on labor activists in Iran has increased in recent months, with the rise of demonstrations and protests by workers over their poor living conditions.

In recent days, several international human rights organizations and international labor organizations have protested the widespread repression and arrest of labor activists in Iran, calling for the release of detained and imprisoned workers and for the demands raised in labor protests to be addressed.
