Coronavirus: Japan bans entry of citizens from "110 countries", including Iran

The secretary of the Korea-Japan Inbound Tour Consortium announced a ban on entry to Japan of citizens of 110 countries, including Iran.

Abbas Ali Emamieh told ISNA news agency on Wednesday, June 4, that based on Japanese government guidelines, foreign nationals from 110 countries, including Iran, have been banned from entering Japan from April 5 to July 10.

According to him, this ban was imposed to control the coronavirus in Japan, and until it is lifted, nationals of these countries do not have the right to enter Japan.

Imamia said that this order applies to all airlines and that airlines have been denied permission to allow passengers from those 110 countries to enter Japan.

The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also published on its official website the names of 111 countries, regions, and cities, including Iran, whose nationals are banned from entering, and those who were in these countries within 14 days prior to entering Japan are also subject to a ban on entering the country.

Among Iran's neighbors, all countries are on the list of countries banned from entering, with the only exceptions being Turkmenistan and Iraq, for which visa validity has also been suspended until the end of this month.

Imamieh says that on the health security map, Iran is designated as level three, and on the political security map, it is designated as level two.

According to him, Iran's security level map in Japan reached three after the killing of Qassem Soleimani in Iraq and then changed back to two.
