“22 detainees linked to Ahvaz parade attack executed”

Reports from some human rights sources indicate that all 22 people arrested after the attack on the Ahvaz parade have been “executed.” Some sources say that their families have been told not to hold mourning ceremonies and not to be interviewed by anyone.

According to reports, 22 people who were arrested in connection with the Ahvaz attack, according to the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence, have been executed.

According to various news sources, the execution of these individuals took place on Thursday, November 8th, without the knowledge of their families and in a mass manner in Ahvaz.

Shahid Alavi, a journalist and political analyst, cited an unnamed source on his Twitter page as some of the executed individuals, including “Ahmad Al-Aboudi, Mohammad Momeni, and his two sons, Nassar Momeni and Osama Momeni.”

The Human Rights in Iran website also confirmed the execution of these 22 people on Twitter.

On October 21, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence announced the arrest of 22 people in connection with an armed attack on an armed forces parade in Ahvaz.

Human rights activists have said that the Ahvaz Intelligence Department contacted the families of some of the detainees and informed them of their executions. They have also been asked not to hold funerals for them and not to give interviews in this regard. It has also been said that the responsible authorities in Ahvaz have confirmed this news during the follow-up with the families.

No official has yet confirmed or denied this news, and Deutsche Welle Persian is also unable to independently confirm or deny this news.

Iran's Ministry of Intelligence had previously released a video of the arrest of 22 people, saying they were involved in the Ahvaz parade attack and were detained in a team house. It was also said that they were storing "explosives, military equipment, and communication facilities" in the house.

There is no information about the trial process of these individuals. Some sources say that these arrests have nothing to do with the Ahvaz parade and that many Ahvaz activists have been arrested under this pretext. Amnesty International warned on November 2 (November 1) about the extent of the arrests of Arab political and civil activists in Khuzestan.

The attack on an army parade in Ahvaz on September 21 left 25 dead and 60 injured. Iranian media reported that five attackers were involved, and that all were killed. The Fars news agency reported that three of the attackers were related, “two of them were brothers and the third was their cousin.” It also listed the occupations of the men as carpentry and cabinetmaking.
