12 Citizens Arrested for Selling Unconventional and Offensive Clothing Related to Muharram

12 citizens in Tehran were arrested for selling unconventional and offensive clothing related to the month of Muharram.

Muharram is the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar and is considered by Muslims, including Shiites, to be one of the sacred months. During the pre-Islamic period as well as in Islam, warfare was prohibited during this month. The nationwide protests that began last year during Safar were accompanied by a conflict that, according to Shiite Muslims, was forbidden.

In the current year as well, coinciding with the beginning of Muharram, this conflict, which was started by the Islamic Republic government against the people, continues, and every day we witness beatings, arrests, and torture of people by regime officials.

People who have lost all their beliefs and convictions continue to be present in the streets at the start of this month without observing mandatory hijab and in protest against the government. Some have also proceeded to sell unconventional clothing and items that insult the month of Muharram through their designs.

According to “Mizan,” twelve citizens in Tehran were arrested for producing and selling unconventional and offensive clothing related to the month of Muharram.

Davoud Moazami Goodarzi, the head of Tehran’s Cyber Police, also announced in this regard: “These individuals, who through more than 15 Instagram pages were selling clothing with designs promoting drugs, alcoholic beverages, and devil worship, as well as deviant and heretical sects, were identified and arrested through monitoring and surveillance of cyberspace by the Cyber Police.”

He also added: “Action was also taken against manufacturers operating in this field, which included more than 4 trade units producing in Tehran’s grand bazaar.”
