22 Detainees Related to Ahvaz Parade Attack Executed

Reports from some human rights sources indicate that all 22 people arrested following the attack on the Ahvaz parade have been “executed.” Some sources say their families were told not to hold mourning ceremonies and not to speak with anyone.
According to reports, the 22 people who, according to Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence, were arrested in connection with the Ahvaz attack have been executed.
According to various news sources, the execution of these individuals took place on Thursday, the 17th of Aban (November 8) without notifying their families and in a mass execution in Ahvaz.
Shahid Alavi, a journalist and political analyst, cited a source on his Twitter page and mentioned the names of some of the executed as “Ahmad Al-Aboudi, Mohammad Moumeni and his two sons, Nissar Moumeni and Osama Moumeni.”
The Human Rights in Iran website also confirmed the execution of these 22 people on Twitter.
On the 2nd of Mehr, Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence announced the arrest of 22 people in connection with the armed attack on the military parade in Ahvaz.
Human rights activists have said that the Ahvaz Intelligence Office, in contact with the families of some of the detainees, informed them of their executions. They were also asked not to hold any ceremonies for their deaths and not to give any interviews in this regard. It was also stated that responsible officials in Ahvaz confirmed this news during the families’ inquiries.
No official has yet confirmed or denied this news, and Deutsche Welle Farsi is also unable to independently confirm or deny the report.
Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence had previously released a video of the arrest of 22 people and announced that these individuals were involved in the attack on the Ahvaz parade and were arrested in a safe house. It was also stated that they were keeping “explosives, military equipment, and communications facilities” in that house.
There is no information about the legal proceedings for these individuals. Some sources say these arrests had nothing to do with the Ahvaz parade and many Ahvazi activists were arrested under this pretext. Amnesty International on November 2 (11 Aban) warned about the scope of arrests of Arab political and civil activists in Khuzestan.
The attack on the military parade of the army in Ahvaz on September 22 left 25 dead and 60 wounded. Iranian media reported the number of attackers as five and emphasized that all of them were killed. The FARS news agency wrote that three of these people were family members “two of them were brothers and the third was their cousin.” The profession of these individuals was also mentioned as carpentry and cabinet-making.
