Christians Protest in Silence in Stockholm

Christian citizens in Stockholm expressed their protest in silence against 44 years of oppression by the Islamic Republic regime.

Videos released from Stockholm on social media indicate a Christian protest, though the demonstration took place in silence. On Thursday, January 4, Christian residents of Stockholm held a silent protest in support of a silent campaign at the request of Arzhang Mortazavi, a Kharazmi University student who was among those arrested during last year’s nationwide protests and imprisoned for verbal opposition to the regime.

This protest also addressed 44 years of injustice, crime, oppression, and suffocation perpetrated by the Islamic Republic regime against the Iranian people.

Arzhang Mortazavi was sentenced by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court of Alborz Province to one year imprisonment, a two-year ban on leaving the country, and deprivation of access to all social media networks.

Some social media users reacted to this silent protest, commenting: “This silence worked for us. This staying quiet and not showing any reaction to the injustices committed against the Iranian people and Christians who suffered under the regime’s oppression has worked for us. There are many Persian-speaking Christians who have endured suffering for years, suffering that cannot fit into a 3-minute video like this one. Instead, one could record a video of their pain, oppression, humiliation, and more that would last for hours. This video is only a very small image of all the dear ones who cannot speak in Iran.”
