Consultations Between Foreign Ministers of America and Three European Countries on Iran and Yemen

The foreign ministers of four countries—the United States, Britain, Germany, and France—met in person for the first time. Dominic Raab, Britain’s foreign secretary, wrote on Twitter that the four countries held consultations regarding Iran and Yemen.

Anthony Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State, traveled to Brussels to participate in a meeting of foreign ministers of NATO member states.

Dominic Raab, Britain’s foreign secretary, posted on Twitter that he met in person for the first time with Anthony Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State, Heiko Maas, Germany’s foreign minister, and Jean-Yves Le Drian, France’s foreign minister.

Raab added that in efforts to achieve peace in Yemen and prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power, Britain, the United States, France, and Germany have stood together.

No details of these consultations have been released yet.

Anthony Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State, also held a bilateral meeting for the first time with Heiko Maas, his German counterpart, on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Brussels, and announced his country’s firm opposition to the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline from Russia to Europe.

Blinken said that this project would mean Europe’s dependence on Russian energy and would place Europe’s collective security in the hands of the Kremlin’s leadership.
