Corona: Japan Bans Entry of Nationals from 110 Countries Including Iran

The secretary of the Consortium of Inbound Tours to Korea and Japan announced the ban on entry of nationals from 110 countries, including Iran, to Japan.

Abbas Ali Imamiyeh told ISNA news agency on Wednesday, June 4, that according to the Japanese government’s directive, the entry of foreign nationals from 110 countries, including Iran, has been banned from March 6 to July 10.

According to him, this restriction has been implemented to control the coronavirus in Japan, and until it is lifted, nationals of these countries do not have the right to enter Japan.

Imamiyeh said this order applies to all airlines and permission for passengers from those 110 countries to enter Japan has been revoked from the airlines.

Japan’s Foreign Ministry also published on its official website the names of 111 countries, regions, and cities, including Iran, whose nationals’ entry has been banned, and those who were present in these countries during the 14 days prior to entering Japan are also subject to entry restrictions.

Among Iran’s neighbors, all countries are on the entry ban list, with only Turkmenistan and Iraq exempted, though visa validity for these countries has been suspended until the end of the current month.

Imamiyeh says that on the health security map, Iran’s level is set at three, and on the political security map, this level is set at two.

According to him, Iran’s security level map in Japan was elevated to three after Qasem Soleimani was killed in Iraq, and then changed back to two.
