Federal Judge Halts Trump’s Immigration Order

Donald Trump has so far had no success implementing his immigration order. A federal judge has now halted his latest directive in this regard. This time the issue concerns cutting funding for “sanctuary cities”.

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has once again failed in his hardline immigration approach. A federal judge in San Francisco on Tuesday, April 25 (Ordibehesht 5) blocked the implementation of the president’s new order in this area.

According to this order, federal financial resources for cities that provide refuge to illegal immigrants were to be cut. These cities, which have declared they will not comply with the president’s order to combat illegal immigrants, have become known as “sanctuary cities.”

New York, San Francisco, Boston, and Los Angeles are among the “sanctuary cities”; cities that have refused to comply with federal authorities’ orders to pursue, locate, and detain illegal immigrants.

Judge William Orrick ruled that Trump’s new order is inconsistent with the American Constitution.

Judge Orrick’s decision is enforceable in more than 300 American cities and regions. Trump’s new order would have prevented the transfer of billions of dollars in federal budget to San Francisco and the Santa Clara region.

Trump, who symbolically promised to bring about fundamental changes to the country’s immigration policy within the first 100 days of his presidency, has repeatedly encountered judicial obstacles in implementing his immigration orders.

Based on Trump’s immigration order, citizens of Iran, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Syria will not have the right to enter the United States for 90 days. Furthermore, this order establishes a ban lasting at least 120 days for refugees to enter.
