Fuad Qadri Transferred to Diesel Abad Prison with Broken Ribs Following Arrest and Torture
Fuad Qadri, a 27-year-old nurse from Javanroud employed in Sanandaj, has been transferred to Diesel Abad Prison in Kermanshah after one week in detention. According to human rights reports, he suffered severe torture at a security detention facility, sustaining multiple broken ribs, and has been deprived of medical services and access to a lawyer. However, no official information has been released regarding the cause of his detention or any potential charges against him.
According to published reports, Qadri was arrested on September 21, 2026 (30 Shahrivar 1405) while traveling on the Ravaneser-Kamyaran route by agents from the Information Bureau. Human rights sources state that no judicial warrant was presented to him at the time of arrest. Security forces subsequently visited his family home in Javanroud, searched the house, and confiscated several personal belongings, including his computer.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network and other human rights sources have reported that Qadri was subjected to severe physical and psychological torture and pressure during several days of interrogation at the security detention facility, resulting in multiple broken ribs. Despite these injuries, according to these sources, he was denied medical care and was transferred to Diesel Abad Prison following the completion of his interrogation.
Reports also indicate that Qadri has had no opportunity to contact or visit with his family and has been denied access to a lawyer. The HRANA news agency also reported his transfer to Diesel Abad, the beatings, and deprivation of medical services and family contact, although it did not release details about his physical injuries.
