Hamed Ashoori, Christian, Sentenced to 10 Months Imprisonment by Karaj Revolutionary Court

Hamed Ashoori, a Christian, was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment by the Karaj Revolutionary Court. Mr. Ashoori was arrested by security forces in Esfand 1397 and was later released on a temporary basis.

According to HARANA news agency, citing Mohabbat News, the Karaj Revolutionary Court sentenced Hamed Ashoori, a Christian, to imprisonment.

Based on this ruling, which was announced to Mr. Ashoori in Farvardin of the current year, he was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment on charges of anti-regime propaganda.

According to the report, he has 20 days to file an appeal.

Hamed Ashoori was arrested by security forces in Fardis, Karaj in Esfand 1397 and was transferred to Qarchak Prison in Karaj for interrogation procedures.

Security forces reportedly conducted a search of his home while Mr. Ashoori was in detention.

He was eventually released temporarily from Qarchak Prison in Karaj after ten days.

The report states that this citizen was told to participate in Islamic religious classes, and Mr. Ashoori’s family members were also subjected to threats and harassment by security officials.

The hearing on the charges against this citizen was held in Esfand 1398 at Branch 4 of the Karaj Revolutionary Court.
