Head of Iran’s Traffic Police Calls for Import of Quality Vehicles

The head of Iran’s Traffic Police considered importing quality vehicles necessary to reduce traffic accidents in the country.

Kamal Hadianfar on Sunday, April 10, referring to the annual death of 27,000 people in accidents in the years before 2007, added: Importing safe vehicles led to the reduction of these casualties to 17,000 per year.

The head of the traffic police of NAJA, criticizing the low quality and inefficiency of domestic vehicle parts, deemed the performance of domestic automakers indefensible.

This traffic official had previously stated that in 93 percent of cases, airbags in domestic vehicles do not deploy during traffic accidents.
