Image of ‘Mahsa Amini’ Removed from Humanitarian Aid Plane to Gaza

The image of “Mahsa Amini” was removed from a humanitarian aid plane destined for Gaza at the order of the Egyptian government.
“Enrique Piñeiro”, a renowned Italian-Argentine filmmaker, posted on the social media network “X” and announced: “By order of the Egyptian government allied with Israel, the photo of Mahsa Amini was removed from the ‘Boeing Dreamliner’ aircraft that was used for humanitarian operations. In order for Solidar to be able to deliver humanitarian aid to the civilian people of Gaza, we were forced to remove the photo of Mahsa Amini and the related text from the aircraft, otherwise the Egyptian government would not allow us to land in Al-Arish.”

The image of “Mahsa Amini”, who died in the custody of the Guidance Patrol (Gasht-e Ershad), as well as the image of “Amir Reza Nasr Azadani”, an Iranian footballer who was sentenced to prison during the widespread protests last year, were unveiled on the aforementioned aircraft in early 2024. The aircraft has recently been used by the non-governmental organization Solidar to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Along with the aforementioned images, the phrases “No woman should be forced to wear a hijab”, “No woman should be killed for not covering her head”, and “No man should be hanged for saying this” were inscribed. However, Islamic governments fear even the names of the deceased, and by order of the Egyptian government, their names had to be erased from the humanitarian aid aircraft to Gaza in order to be granted permission to land the plane carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza.
