Indictment Issued and Case of Amin and Arman Ansari Far Referred to Bandar Mahshahr Revolutionary Court

Hrana News Agency – The case of Amin and Arman Ansari Far, father and brother of Farzad Ansari Far, who died during the November 2019 protests, has been referred to the Bandar Mahshahr Revolutionary Court following the issuance of an indictment. Amin Ansari Far and his son Arman Ansari Far were arrested on February 19 and March 1, respectively, and were ultimately transferred to Behbahan Prison.

According to Hrana News Agency, the news organ of the Iranian Human Rights Activists Network, the case of Amin and Arman Ansari Far, residents of Behbahan and father and brother of Farzad Ansari Far, one of those killed during the November 2019 protests, has been referred to the Bandar Mahshahr Revolutionary Court following the issuance of an indictment.

The charges against Amin Ansari Far in the issued indictment are stated as follows: “1- Contact and interview with the hostile U.S. government through an interview with Masih Alinejad, an employee of the U.S. State Department 2- Propaganda against the Islamic Republic system through interviews with media hostile to the system,” and it has been referred to the Bandar Mahshahr Revolutionary Court by Branch 4 of the General and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Behbahan County, headed by Judge Kazem Tayeb.

An informed source regarding the conditions of these citizens in Behbahan Prison told Hrana: “Amin Ansari Far, in a contact he had with his family yesterday, was complaining of pain in the chest area. Additionally, Arman Ansari Far is experiencing symptoms of coronavirus such as coughing, headache, and nasal discharge.”

On Saturday, February 19, Amin Ansari Far was arrested following his visit to the General and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Behbahan and was transferred to the prison of this county. Arman Ansari Far was also arrested on Sunday, March 1, by officers of the Information Office at his home, first taken to the detention center of this security agency, and ultimately transferred to Behbahan Prison. According to an informed source, the charge against Arman Ansari Far is stated as “propaganda against the system,” and these citizens are currently deprived of the right to visit with their families.

Amin Ansari Far had previously been summoned through a notice to defend himself regarding the charges attributed to him by Branch 4 of the General and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Behbahan County, headed by Judge Kazem Tayeb. The charge against him is stated as “propaganda in favor of groups or organizations opposed to the Islamic Republic system.”

Furthermore, Arman Ansari Far was summoned on December 14 of this year through a notice to Branch 4 of the Prosecutor’s Office of Behbahan.

During the November 2019 protests in Behbahan, a number of residents of this city, including Mehrdad Dashtinia, Mahmoud Dashtinia, Farzad Ansari Far, Mohammad Hossein Qanvati, Ehsan Abdollahnejad, and Mohammad Hashm Dar, lost their lives to gunfire by security forces. Hrana also reported on November 1 of last year the issuance of a sentence of 109 years imprisonment and 2,590 lashes for 36 of those detained during the November protests in Behbahan by Branch 102 of the Criminal Court of both Behbahan counties.
