Iran Needs a New Democratic Regime for Freedom

“Pierre Poilievre,” leader of Canada’s Conservative Party, said: “I believe that for Iran’s freedom, we need a new democratic regime.”

“Pierre Poilievre” outlined his policies to confront Iran’s regime and the terrorist Revolutionary Guard Corps in a press conference. In response to a question from “EBTK Times” about Canada’s practical measures to support Iran’s popular revolution movement, he said: “There are two things we must do. First, we must designate the Revolutionary Guard Corps as a criminal organization in Canada so that its main actors cannot use Canada to collect money, plan operations, hire people, and conduct espionage for foreign governments.

We must criminalize this organization. I don’t know why Trudeau has been soft on the Revolutionary Guard and refuses to take this action. Second, we need foreign influence registration so that those who operate on behalf of Iran’s regime in Canada must register and be held accountable. This way, we can expose people who work for the regime in this country and receive salaries.”

Currently in Canada, it is completely legal for someone to work for the Revolutionary Guard Corps or for Iran’s government contrary to Canada’s national interests and to suppress and intimidate Canadian Iranians. We are aware of individuals who see regime members here and there, who now live in security and enjoy all the money they have stolen from the Iranian people. Their identities have not yet been exposed and currently they have not been expelled.

I will expel those who have trampled on our laws and standards. I will require foreign missions that receive payments from foreign dictatorships to register, and I will designate the Revolutionary Guard as a criminal organization.”

Poilievre also spoke about Canada’s foreign policy toward the Islamic Republic, saying we cannot control who Saudi Arabia and Iran choose as partners, but what we can control is how we treat Iran’s regime, and I believe we need devastating and crippling economic sanctions.

He also stated that we must pressure other allies to implement similar sanctions. Ban the Revolutionary Guard Corps, establish foreign influence registration to identify people who work on behalf of Tehran, receive salaries, and advance that dictatorship’s programs in Canada, and expel them.

Poilievre continued that we can control individuals from the regime who are in Canada and using money stolen from the Iranian people, but he stated that we cannot trade with Iran. As conservatives, the Canadian government has expelled Iran’s ambassador and closed Iran’s embassy, and Poilievre also announced that he will maintain this policy. He also said: “I believe that for Iran’s freedom, we need a new democratic regime in Iran.”
