Iran Says Three ‘Mossad Spies’ Arrested in Sistan and Baluchestan

Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Intelligence Department says its forces have arrested three people in the province on charges of spying for Israel’s Intelligence and Special Operations Agency (Mossad).

The statement from this body, which is a subsidiary of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence, does not provide details about the nationality of the detainees or how they were arrested, and only says that “these individuals were involved in the dissemination of classified information and documents” and were arrested based on a “court order.”

This statement has been published similarly by all domestic news agencies in the country, with only the Islamic Republic News Agency, IRNA, identifying the place of detention of the accused as Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
