Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence Accuses Ahmadinejad of Making ‘Unrealistic’ Statements

Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence on Monday, June 10, issued a statement accusing Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of “disturbing public opinion” and making “unrealistic” remarks about the security body.
The ministry stated that Ahmadinejad’s statements regarding the Ministry of Intelligence’s actions are “unrealistic and aimed at disturbing public opinion,” and at this time will only respond to them based on the Supreme Leader’s emphasis on the goal of “strengthening security and national unity and maximizing participation in elections and preventing enemies from exploiting the situation.”
The Ministry of Intelligence ultimately warned Ahmadinejad that it will provide an “appropriate response to claims contrary to security realities” at a “suitable time.”
The ministry’s statement did not specify which of Ahmadinejad’s remarks it was referring to.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recently criticized the approach of Iran’s intelligence and security organizations, accusing these bodies of negligence and deviation in their supervisory duties. He claimed that under these circumstances, some have “punctured” Iran’s space agency and “taken away the country’s documents.”
No reports have been published in Iranian media about documents being taken from Iran’s space agency, and Ahmadinejad has not provided a date for when this incident allegedly occurred.
