Israel’s Missile Attack on Areas Near Damascus

Syrian state media has reported a new missile attack by the Israeli army on several locations near Damascus. The Syrian army has announced that the country’s air defense has succeeded in neutralizing a large number of these missiles.
Syria’s state news agency, SANA, reported on the morning of Monday, February 15 (27 Bahman) that areas located near Damascus came under missile attack from the Israeli army.
No detailed report has yet been released regarding the number of potential casualties and damage caused by this missile attack.
The news agency reported, citing Syrian military circles, that Israel launched missiles from the Golan Heights toward Damascus in the early morning hours of Monday, February 15.
Syrian military sources announced that the country’s air defense system was activated following the missile launches from the Golan Heights, and a number of missiles were neutralized.
Based on information released by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Israel also carried out its heaviest air strikes in recent years on Syrian territory in mid-January.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, whose headquarters is located in London, had announced that during this severe attack, at least 57 soldiers of the Syrian army and a number of pro-government militias supporting Bashar al-Assad were killed.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights described the January attack as Israel’s most severe air strike since the start of Syria’s civil war in 2011.
International news agencies are unable to verify the news and information released by this center. This comes as Israel typically does not report on its military operations in the region.
