Latest Reports of Popular Protests in the Call for the Final Week of Aban 98

According to a call that went viral on social media at the beginning of the week for the last few days of Aban month, people from across Iran took to the streets to mark the final days of Aban under the Islamic Republic government with their uprising.
In Izeh, Khuzestan, people chanted “Today is the day of freedom, the Pahlavi throne is empty” as they took to the streets. Additionally, people in this city stripped a number of Basij members as a form of protest for the girls who were forcibly put into vehicles by the Guidance Patrol, tearing their clothes in the process.
In Hafshanjan, located in Khorramabad, and also in Chitgar, Tehran, people with empty hands forced security officials to flee and prevented them from massacring the people.
People in Tehran, holding the Lion and Sun flag, came to the streets fearlessly and courageously, unafraid of death. In Ekbatan district as well, people with the cry “Don’t retreat,” in a collective attack and unified command, rushed towards security forces and drove them away.
People in Tehran who use the metro for transportation, considering that security forces had attacked people with bullets in various metro stations, still declared their protest by writing slogans such as “Death to Khamenei,” “Hossein Rounaghi must be free,” “My compatriot, my life is a shield for your freedom,” “Your hair is my hope” on metro station walls. They also covered the cameras inside the train cars with whatever was available, so that protesting people inside the cars would not be identified.
People in Tehran also sent a message addressed to Khamenei, stating: You beat in Aban 98, you killed, imprisoned and executed. You thought it was all over. As you yourselves said, the era of “hit and run” is over and you must be held accountable for this year’s crimes. We will exact the price of these crimes from each and every one of you. Subsequently, an audio message that has been circulating on social media these days about a “red status” was broadcast from household loudspeakers in most areas of Tehran.
In these protests, provinces and cities such as: Tehran and all its suburbs, Ilam, Tabriz, Boukan, Foulad Shahr, Shahin Shahr, Sanandaj, Saqez, Sanandaj, Someh Sara, Boukan, Kamyaran, Kerman, Mahabad, Hormozgan Bandar Khmir and many other cities across Iran participated.
