New Restriction on Gold Coins for Travelers; Even a Single Gold Coin is Prohibited from Entry and Exit

Following the escalation of the currency and gold coin price crisis in Iran, the entry and exit of even a single gold coin piece from Iran’s borders has been banned.
Based on an announcement on Monday, September 19 by the passenger affairs manager of Imam Airport’s customs, women’s jewelry weighing over 150 grams is subject to these entry and exit restrictions.
He added that if departing passengers’ jewelry exceeds this weight limit, the matter will be reported to customs by exit gate control personnel.
According to Mr. Goodarzi, the entry or exit of even a single coin is currently prohibited, and cases of preventing the entry and exit of coins belonging to individuals have also been reported.
The gold coin price hike crisis, which began months ago, continues intensely alongside the increase in foreign exchange rates; to the extent that the price of each gold coin has increased more than three and a half times from the beginning of this year until now.
