Pope Francis Repeats Call for Ceasefire in Gaza

Pope Francis, leader of Catholics worldwide, reiterated his call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
Pope Francis had previously requested that Israel and Hamas end the war and declare a ceasefire in recent months, but Israel has continued its airstrikes and ground operations in the Gaza Strip, resulting in a massive massacre in Palestine.
Pope Francis once again announced his call for ending the war and an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, urging the world to say: “Enough please! Stop the war.”
During remarks in Saint Peter’s Square in Vatican City, the Pope expressed concern for children affected by the war and its impact on them, while calling for the release of captives involved in the Hamas attack on October 7. He said on the matter: “Every day I carry in my heart the pain and suffering of the Palestinian and Israeli people due to the ongoing hostilities, thousands of deaths, wounded, and displaced. Do you really think you can build a better world this way? Do you really think you will achieve peace? Enough please! Allow all of us to say enough please! Stop the war.”
