Prince Reza Pahlavi: Before Military Confrontation, People Should Be Given Opportunity to Overthrow the Regime

Prince Reza Pahlavi spoke about regime change, saying: “Before military confrontation, people should be given the opportunity to remove the regime.”
Prince Reza Pahlavi, in an exclusive interview with “Fox News” regarding a possible attack by Israel and the United States on Iran’s nuclear facilities, said: “Moving directly from failed diplomacy to military confrontation causes the most logical and rational option to be overlooked. Unlike this regime that has always been warmonger and cannot be a true partner in peace, the Iranian people desire friendly relations with their neighbors and the free world. Before we resort to more horrific scenarios like military confrontation, the Iranian people should be given the opportunity to remove this regime.”
He also, on the day of Iran-America negotiations in Oman, in a separate interview with “Sunday Times” regarding weakening the regime and Trump’s deal with the Islamic Republic over Iran’s nuclear program, said: “Throughout these 46 years, the regime has never been as weak as it is today, and we believe we are on the threshold of ultimate freedom and an unprecedented and exceptional opportunity for its realization has emerged.”
Prince Pahlavi, emphasizing the vital support of the West for the Iranian people, rejected any military intervention and added: “The issue is not just a nuclear agreement or military intervention. The better option is to support the Iranian people to achieve democratic change. What we need is regime change so that warmongers give way to peace advocates.
Ayatollah Khamenei has no inclination to change course. The likelihood that the regime will yield to Trump’s demands is very slim. This is not like a real estate deal in downtown Manhattan where a skyscraper is to be purchased. This regime has repeatedly proven that it neither can nor wants to fundamentally change its behavior. Western governments must understand that hope for freedom, justice, equality and human rights within the framework of a religious dictatorship is nothing but an illusion. Forty years has been sufficient time for us to conclude that this matter cannot be resolved through diplomacy.”
Prince Pahlavi also expressed his agreement with the Trump administration’s maximum pressure policy on Iran while simultaneously supporting the maximum support for protesting people, and continued: “The regime’s popularity is at its lowest possible level. Widespread protests following the killing of Mahsa Amini were brutally suppressed, and according to UN reports, at least 901 people were executed in just the past year; yet scattered protests continue, and nearly one-fifth of women in Tehran appear on the streets without observing hijab. The regime tries to frighten people through repression, but it knows it can no longer control the protests. Fear has dissipated.
What is the message of the video released of a woman sitting naked on a police vehicle in Tehran? It is that nothing matters to me anymore, either arrest me and torture me or execute me. We have not witnessed such determination, will and courage in the past 46 years.”
“Sunday Times” said about Reza Pahlavi: “Even critics of Pahlavi acknowledge that he is the only figure known at the national level.”
Prince Pahlavi also stated in this regard: “People know me. Some celebrated on my birthday because an heir to the throne had been born. Back then I was their son, now I am their father. Even Generation Z, when they send me messages, call me father, and this is comforting to me. This public recognition gives me a moral legitimacy that if I contact any military commander or minister or official of any institution and say I am Reza Pahlavi, they immediately know who they are speaking with. Few people enjoy such a position.
This is a great responsibility and of course makes me a target of a regime that has a history of terrorist operations abroad. But my companions and I are prepared to sacrifice our lives for this cause. My duty today is to act as an honest mediator and bring others together for the internal collapse of this regime. I hope that before the regime finds an opportunity to kill me, we will achieve our goal.”
