Reactions to Manchester Incident; From Ordinary People to Renowned Figures in Arts and Sports

Shortly after the news of the explosion at Ariana Grande’s concert hall in Manchester was announced, many expressed their condolences to the victims on Twitter.

The hashtag #RoomForManchester, or Room for Manchester, trended on Twitter as people sought to find those willing to offer their homes to victims.

Residents of Manchester and surrounding areas, emphasizing that humanity has not faded, kept hope alive in the darkness of this distressing night by proposing simple yet heartwarming suggestions.

One person wrote that if you need a bed to sleep in or a cup of hot tea, if you need to charge your phone, I am only fifteen minutes away from the Manchester concert hall, please message me.

Another said her husband took his car to the streets to transport anyone who needed a ride to their destination.

Hotels near the site of the incident also announced on Twitter that they had vacant rooms and could keep children free of charge until their parents found them.

Stars’ Condolences

Twitter was also filled with expressions of sympathy from stars in the world of arts and entertainment.

Ariana Grande, the singer at whose concert the explosion occurred, wrote “I am broken, I am so sorry with all of my heart, I have no words.”

Katy Perry said: “My heart goes out to the families of the victims. For Ariana too and of course for the state of the world.”

Justin Timberlake, singer and actor, wrote: “My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this terrible incident in Manchester. We have to do better, we have to love one another.”

Nicki Minaj, singer, wrote: “My heart breaks for my sister Ariana and the families of the victims, innocent people lost their lives, I am sorry.”

Taylor Swift also said: “My thoughts, prayers, tears and love are with the victims of the Manchester incident.”

Demi Lovato, Harry Styles, Selena Gomez and Kendall Jenner were among other artists who reacted to the incident.

But it was not just singers. Footballers who have played for Manchester United also expressed their condolences to the victims on Twitter.

From Wayne Rooney to Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham, who said his heart was broken both as a father and as a human being.
