Retirees’ Gathering Accompanied by Police Violence for Second Consecutive Day in Tehran

Retirees continued their protests for the second consecutive day in front of the Planning and Budget Organization in Tehran.
A group of cultural retirees in Iran gathered in protest on Sunday, June 27, for the second consecutive day in front of the Planning and Budget Organization in Tehran, objecting to their living conditions and the failure to meet their demands.
Retirees are protesting the non-receipt of their retirement bonuses. The protesters say that their problems are not new and they have been seeking attention to them for approximately 10 months.
Published images indicate that this gathering was accompanied by police violence.
The retirees’ protest gathering on the previous day had also been held in front of the Planning and Budget Organization with the slogan “Cry, cry out against all this injustice.”
These gatherings, which have become more prominent since the late 2018, have continued in recent months.
Protests by various sectors in Iran, including retirees, have increased at a time when the number of economic corruption cases, some of whose accused are also known officials and figures, has risen in Iran.
