Snap Driver Attacks Female Passenger Without Mandatory Hijab Using Steering Wheel Lock

An attack by a self-appointed morality enforcer driver using a steering wheel lock on a passenger not wearing mandatory hijab has become a viral news story.

A video has been circulated on social media showing a Snap driver attacking with a steering wheel lock a female passenger who was not wearing mandatory hijab in his vehicle.

On Sunday evening, September 5th, a Snap driver attacked his passenger, a woman without hijab, using a steering wheel lock, forcibly removed her from his car with insults, and subjected her to beating and assault. He also verbally abused the woman in such a way that he only released his passenger after intervention by people present at the scene.

The video received widespread reactions on social networks. Some people who viewed the video stated that they too had been treated similarly by Snap drivers for not observing mandatory hijab and had been forced out of vehicles.

When the leader running Iran permits men to lay hands on women without hijab and declares you are free to deal with unveiled individuals, drivers like this one take it upon themselves to assault people’s families and forcibly impose hijab through beating. These self-appointed moral enforcers who claim to be concerned about hijab and religion are themselves engaged in hidden acts of sodomy and assaults on people’s families. The enforcers of virtue who speak of upholding hijab and protecting religion are themselves committing abuses behind closed doors.

The female passenger who was beaten by the driver courageously stood up to him and defended herself. Iranian women and girls responded to the video saying: “We, the women and girls of Iran, are no longer afraid of the regime and its agents, and we stand united for victory. We will not yield to the regime’s force, and we will stand until the victory of Iran and the overthrow of the system.”
