Swedish Prosecutor Seeks Maximum Punishment for Hamid Noori: Life Imprisonment

The prosecutor during the trial of Hamid Noori, a former administrator at Rajai Shahr Prison, requested the maximum punishment for his role in the executions of the 1980s, which under Swedish law constitutes life imprisonment.

The eighty-ninth session of Hamid Noori’s trial on charges of participation in the execution of political prisoners at Gohardasht Prison in the summer of 1988 was held on Thursday, April 28 in Stockholm, Sweden, and the prosecutor requested that the defendant be sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of “severe war crimes.”

According to a report by Hamideh Armideh, a correspondent sent by the Persian Service of Voice of America, Hamid Noori’s family, who as always appeared before reporters and those present in court with smiling faces, this time during the presentation of the final indictment by the prosecutors handling the case were holding photographs of Qasem Soleimani and Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Republic.

The final verdict for Hamid Noori will be issued after the presentation of the final defense in the coming days.
