Two Citizens Arrested Following Appearance at Khuzestan Intelligence Media Center; Transferred to Sepidار Prison in Ahvaz

Hrana News Agency – On Wednesday, the 18th of Esfand, Leila Salmeh Zadeh along with her daughter Yasmin Azan were arrested following their appearance at the media center of the Khorramshahr Information Office, transferred to the detention facility of this security institution in Ahvaz, and ultimately transferred to Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz. These citizens had previously been summoned by telephone to the media center of the Information Office.
According to Hrana News Agency, the news outlet of the Iranian Human Rights Activists Network, on Wednesday, the 18th of Esfand 1400, Leila Salmeh Zadeh along with her daughter Yasmin Azan were arrested following their appearance at the media center of the Khorramshahr Information Office and transferred to the detention facility of this security institution in Ahvaz.
According to an informed source, these citizens were charged with “propaganda against the system” and ultimately transferred three days later from the Ahvaz Information Office detention facility to Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz.
Ms. Salmeh Zadeh suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure, and the continuation of her detention has caused concern among her family and relatives.
Their residence was searched by security forces on the 1st of Esfand 1400, and some of their personal belongings, including Ms. Azan’s mobile phone, were seized and taken away.
Previously, a source close to the Azan family told Hrana: “On the 1st of Esfand, security forces went to Yasmin’s residence to arrest her and conducted a search of the premises; however, since Yasmin was infected with coronavirus and was bedridden, they refrained from arresting her and ultimately declared that she should report to the Khorramshahr media center on the 8th of Esfand.”
The informed source added: “On the 8th of Esfand, after Ms. Aziz Azan appeared at the designated location, security officers told her that officials from the Ahvaz Information Office would come to see her, but hours later, despite this not happening, Yasmin returned home and ultimately on the 18th of Esfand was summoned again through a phone call to the aforementioned institution.”
According to this informed source, following the arrest of Ms. Aziz Azan, her Instagram account was also disabled.
Leila Salmeh Zadeh, 52 years old, and her daughter Yasmin Azan, a media activist, 38 years old, are residents of Ahmad Abad neighborhood in Abadan.
