The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ ballistic missile tests at various locations in Iran has provoked reactions from the United States and France. The two countries say that if the news of tests of missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads is confirmed, the Security Council should make a decision on this matter.
The United States of America on Saturday, March 8 (Esfand 18), in response to reports of ballistic missile tests by the Islamic Republic, announced that if these tests are confirmed, the United Nations Security Council should give a “proportionate response” to it.
This is the second time that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has conducted a missile test since the JCPOA nuclear agreement.

Mark Toner, spokesman for the US State Department, said that the United States will closely and carefully monitor reports of tests of several ballistic missiles.
Toner simultaneously added that such tests do not mean a violation of the July 14 nuclear agreement, known as the JCPOA.
Nevertheless, the US State Department spokesman emphasized: “If the report is confirmed, we will bring this matter to the United Nations Security Council.” He added that the US will ask the Security Council to give an appropriate response to these tests.
Toner said if the reports of these tests are verified, the United States will employ its tools to counter the threat of Iran’s missile program.
