US Police: YouTube Headquarters Attacker Was Likely an Iranian-Born Woman

During a shooting at YouTube’s headquarters building in California, three people were injured. Police say the perpetrator was an Iranian-born woman named Nasim Najafi Aghdam.

According to NBC News, US police said a woman born in Iran was the suspected attacker at YouTube’s headquarters building in San Bruno in northern California.

Police said the 39-year-old woman, whose body was found inside the building, was named Nasim Najafi Aghdam and was born in Iran.

During the shooting that took place on Tuesday afternoon, April 3 (Farvardin 14) at YouTube’s headquarters building in America, three people were injured.

Police said they were notified around 1 p.m. local time on Tuesday and immediately took action.

According to police officials, the attacker had been living in southern California in recent times and was also active on YouTube. She had repeatedly criticized YouTube in videos on Instagram and her personal website. She claimed in one video that YouTube had discriminated against her and censored her videos.

The main motive for the attack has not yet been fully clarified. Some media outlets said the woman intended to kill her boyfriend. Others say she was a YouTube employee in San Diego and the motive for the attack was personal disputes.

A 36-year-old man and two women aged 32 and 27 were injured during the assault and are currently being treated at a hospital in San Francisco. Initially, four injuries were reported, with the fourth person not being hit by gunfire but injured while fleeing the building.

According to police, the woman committed suicide after the shooting.

After notifying police, the building was evacuated and hundreds of people left their workplace. A large number of police were sent to the scene, and eyewitnesses reported the presence of helicopters and special operations commandos.
