Official coronavirus statistics in Iran: The number of victims approached 30,000

According to the Iranian Ministry of Health, 256 patients with coronavirus died in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of victims to 29,605.
On Thursday, October 14, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health announced the identification of 4,616 new patients and said: "The total number of people infected with this disease in Iran has reached 517,835."
The official coronavirus statistics in Iran, announced by the Ministry of Health, have always been subject to doubt. The Parliamentary Research Center had previously estimated the number of victims to be twice as many and the number of infected to be 8 to 10 times the official figures.
According to Ms. Lari, 4,671 patients with Covid-19 are under observation in "severe" condition.
Meanwhile, according to Mehr News Agency, the commander of the Corona Response Headquarters declared Wednesday, October 13, one of the capital's most bitter days due to the coronavirus, saying: "The highest death rate was recorded in the Tehran metropolis yesterday."
The number of coronavirus victims in Iran broke records for the umpteenth time in a row on Tuesday and Wednesday, and according to official statistics on Wednesday, October 13, it reached 279 people in the past 24 hours.
Alireza Zali, commander of the Corona headquarters in Tehran, pointed to the continuation of the Corona "red status" in Tehran and the fullness of medical centers, adding: "Traffic restrictions in Tehran can be very effective and reduce a lot of the burden of the disease in the coming days."
On the other hand, according to ILNA, the Deputy Minister of Health of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, referring to the decrease in citizens' participation in observing health protocols, said: "Now, unfortunately, this rate has reached 42 percent and we are witnessing the third and heavy wave of Corona in the country."
Alireza Raisi emphasized that "less than 80% compliance with health protocols does not have the necessary effectiveness."
According to the Ministry of Health spokesman, the provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, East Azerbaijan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Qazvin, Lorestan, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Gilan, Bushehr, Zanjan, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Alborz, West Azerbaijan, Markazi, Kerman, North Khorasan, Hamedan and Yazd are in red status, and the provinces of Kurdistan, Hormozgan, Fars and Golestan are also in alert status.
