Official coronavirus statistics in Iran: The number of victims has exceeded seven thousand people

According to the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, with the death of 69 patients infected with the coronavirus, the total number of victims of the disease in Iran has reached 7,057 according to official statistics.
Kianoush Jahanpour, who announced the official news on Corona on Monday, May 10, also announced the identification of 2,294 new patients over the past 24 hours, saying that the total number of infected people has reached 123,492.
He said that of the total number of infected people, "95,661 patients have recovered and been discharged" and 2,712 people "are under observation in severe condition."
The Ministry of Health's statistics on the coronavirus situation in Iran are being published at a time when some members of parliament and city council members have previously accused the Ministry of Health of concealing the number of deaths and infections from coronavirus.
Also, the statistics published by members of the Tehran City Council regarding the approximate number of deaths "in Tehran" are the same as the statistics announced by the Ministry of Health regarding deaths "in the entire country."
The Parliamentary Research Center previously estimated in a report that the number of deaths was double and the number of infected was 8 to 10 times higher than the Ministry of Health's figures.
Rabiei: 280 counties have white status
Meanwhile, Ali Rabiei, a spokesman for the Iranian government, claimed that we have entered the phase of containing the coronavirus disease, saying that the number of white areas, where the spread of the coronavirus is low, "has increased to 280 counties."
He also said about the coronavirus situation in some provinces that have a red status, saying that there are concerns about Sistan and Baluchestan and Khuzestan, but "we do not have any acute issues" about Tehran and East Azerbaijan.
According to the government spokesman, in recent days, Tehran has recorded "the lowest number of coronavirus deaths" since February 20, which was "a very low and encouraging number."
The government spokesman did not provide statistical details in this regard. Iranian government officials have been refusing to provide disaggregated coronavirus statistics in different provinces for about two months.
