Coronavirus statistics in Iran: The number of victims reached nearly 85,000

On Tuesday, July 28, the Iranian Ministry of Health announced the death of 142 more people from the coronavirus and the identification of more than 12,000 new patients in the past 24 hours.
According to these statistics, 12,717 more people in the country have been infected with Covid in the past 24 hours.
Thus, the total number of coronavirus deaths in the country reached 84,127 people and the total number of infected people reached about three million, 192,809 people.
The release of these figures comes at a time when the Iranian Medical System Organization has estimated the actual number of coronavirus deaths in Iran to be three to four times higher than the Ministry of Health's figures.
Mehr News Agency reported on Tuesday, citing health experts, that daily coronavirus figures have been on the rise in recent days and that the new wave, due to the spread of a mutated strain called Delta, is "far more contagious and dangerous" than previous peaks of the coronavirus outbreak in Iran.
News agencies are also reporting that the coronavirus red zones are expanding from the south to the center and north of the country, and currently 63 cities in the country have become coronavirus red.
Despite these warnings, according to the Iranian Broadcasting Agency, Hojatoleslam Ruhollah Harizawi, deputy head of the Islamic Propaganda Organization, told reporters on Tuesday, July 29: "No religious program will be closed due to coronavirus restrictions."
