The European Union allocated 15 million euros in humanitarian aid to Iran.

Among the donors of humanitarian aid to Iran are the European Union Commission, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Japan, Denmark, Sweden, the UAE, Norway, and Austria.

On Monday, July 11, the European Commission announced a report on the European Union's €15 million in aid to Iran to help poor and vulnerable Iranian and Afghan people in the country.

According to this report, the European Union's donated aid also includes combating the spread of the coronavirus in Iran.

The report says that Iran has suffered the most from the coronavirus outbreak among countries in the region and has had one of the worst conditions in the world.

The European Commission also mentioned the presence of 3.65 million Afghan citizens in Iran and said that Iran has allocated 15 million euros in financial assistance to help them and its own vulnerable people, bringing the total financial assistance of this European institution to Iran since 2016 to 76 million euros.

In this context, the international organization "Financial Tracking Service" reported on Saturday this week that Iran has succeeded in attracting about $31 million (€26 million) in humanitarian aid worldwide in 2021, nearly $18 million of which is from the European Commission, which is scheduled to be paid.

Among the donors of humanitarian aid to Iran are the European Union Commission, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Japan, Denmark, Sweden, the UAE, Norway, and Austria.

Iran received more than $102 million in humanitarian aid from the international community last year, the highest amount in a decade. About 40 percent of this amount was provided by the Japanese government and more than 18 percent by the European Commission.

New statistics from the Financial Tracking Service show that in the first half of 2021, global humanitarian aid provided by governments reached more than $15 billion, 40% of which was donated by the United States.

The European Commission's share was about 13 percent ($2 billion). Also, only 23 percent of the international aid targets were achieved during this period.

Germany, Japan, and Saudi Arabia are next in line in terms of the amount of humanitarian aid in the world.
