Iran's "contaminated" agricultural products continue to return; Baku destroys five tons of bell peppers

The government of the Republic of Azerbaijan says it has completely destroyed five tons of Iranian bell peppers exported due to contamination with the Roguz virus and is collecting 11 tons of infected peppers that have entered the market.
The Food Safety Organization of the Republic of Azerbaijan says that last November, it returned 26 tons of Iranian exported bell peppers to Iran due to the same virus.
This is the latest incident in the context of the Islamic Republic authorities' neglect of standardizing food products exported to neighboring countries.
Previously, Uzbekistan returned 52 containers of Iranian-produced potatoes to Iran due to high levels of contaminants.
Some government officials blame farmers, while farmers say imported pesticides are causing the pollution. Last January, Mohsen Alizadeh, a representative from Sepidan, criticized the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, saying, “There is a big, huge mafia that imports pesticides and does not think about the health of the community.”
Some reports indicate that agricultural products returned to Iran have been distributed by authorities among the people inside the country.
