The plan to send more troops to the Middle East has not yet been approved. Therefore, two sources in the Defense Ministry who reported the news to the media did not wish to be identified.

Trump and strengthening America's defense capabilities in the region

The Associated Press considers the deployment of more military forces to the Middle East to be in conflict with Trump's words about reducing the number of American troops stationed in the region.

This is while the deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, as well as the deployment of several B-52 fighter bombers to the region and their possible deployment at the Al-Udeid military base in Qatar, has increased the US military presence in the Persian Gulf.

Patrick Shanahan, the current US Secretary of Defense, and Mike Pompeo, the country's Secretary of State, emphasized in their meeting with members of the US Senate and House of Representatives that the United States does not want to participate in a new war in the region and that all of the country's military actions in the Persian Gulf waters are defensive in nature.

The Pentagon's plan to send more military forces to the Middle East also emphasizes the defensive nature of these measures. It is said that the United States needs more military forces and an increase in Patriot missile defense systems to increase its defense capabilities.

New military deployment plan

The news about the Pentagon's plan to send new military forces to the Middle East was first published by CNN.

The news network reported that the Pentagon was discussing and negotiating with White House officials regarding the requirement to send thousands of new American troops to the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Patrick Ryder, spokesman for the Joint Chiefs of Staff and one of the country's Air Force commanders, has only said about the Department of Defense's possible plan to send troops to the Middle East that the US military, within the framework of its current policy, avoids commenting and speculating about possible operations and future military actions.

Democratic representatives in the US Congress are concerned that the increased US military presence in the Persian Gulf could lead to a new war.
